Joe Houser, can you help out with this?

OK, I'm pretty confused and hope Joe can help fix that. I have two of this pattern knife. Both have blades marked with 812 and an upside down V
(1988). One is a smooth maroon material and the other is black and textured.

The maroon one has the blade etched with "Buck Work-Man", the black one has no etch. In the catalog for 1988, it shows the black one as a "Guildmaster", but there is no reference to the other one or any "Work-Man". The "Work-Man" doesn't show up until the 1993 catalog and then only in the black textured model.

Is the BCCI website missing some catalog supplements that show the "Work-Man" prior to 1993?

gee dave you always ask'n some tough questions
got any easy ones?

:) If they were easy, I wouldn't have to ask them. I've done as much research on this world threatening subject as I can do with the resources available to me. I need help from a higher source!:D

I wondered off down along the river Vague seeking 300 Workman information also but will have to tell Plumb that I think this is one of those subjects that will take more Houser effort than he probably has time for. They were issued without published catalog placement, in various models and forms, off and on over 10 or more ? year period(s). Generally the 300s are grey scale ususally but not always a few are black. Blade prints changing slightly at least once. I will give my best educated guess for 300 series at nine versions, no guess on year dates. Dang it back when, I should have just started collecting Workman series, the cost would have been less and the storage space much smaller..............300Bucks
