Joe Houser's repair wonders

I am reminded of a line by a comedian/juggler who's name I can't recall, who claimed to use George Washington's original hatchet in his act. He went on to point out that the handle had been replaced...and the blade.
That's how my buck 112 looked when it got back from having the edge 2000 treatment, like the same knive, only new again. this knive had been badly abused before I got it, and I was embarrassed to send it to Joe. I couldn't believe how good they got it looking. I couldn't even tell where the damage had been.
I also sent my 560 in for the BG 42 blade upgrade, and it looks great as well. Joe Houser and crew really went the extra mile for me, and I wanted to thank him both by email and here on the forums.
And Joe, let me know if they ever do a BG 42 blade for the 112. I'm there!
Thanks Joe,
G.

Gary,
That 112 was a walk in the park for Efrin in the rework department. He has been working on Buck knives for decades now and knows all the tricks in the book! I will let him know you are happy with the knife, he does not go on the computer but cherishes the feedback on his work.
I'm glad we could help and appreciate your taking the time to comment!:)

Hey, Joe, I know you're a BUSY guy, but how about taking some pics of beat-up knives you all receive for repair work - and then posting 'em here along with the "after" photos?

I can't speak for everyone, but I reckon they'd go over big here on the forum. :D

Thats an interesting idea! I just might try to see if i can get it done. Could be a lot of fun!

You too?? I thought he just did that for me! ;)

Seriously, I had two 560's rebladed, and a PCKS knife repaired. Joe kept on about how things were probably within tolerence, and how he might not be able to fix the blade wobble, but I got it back tighter than a drum. This was a NS Oak Handled knife with a damascus blade, which has become my daily carry.

I may have a challenge for him, though -- a PCKS knife I got for a friend, who loved it so much he's used and abused it daily, snapped the tip, and otherwise pushed it. Let's see if he can fix THAT!

I, too, must register my appreciation the numerous "extra miles" which Joe has traveled on my behalf. His help has certainly been a great factor in my continuing enjoyment of PCKS. He always adds the extra touch of class that sets Buck Knives and PCKS apart from all others.

Thanks, Joe.

Okay, I'll chime in. Joe took golden care of me when I sent my stag 110 and 560 into the shop. The 110 was beautifully engraved and tightened up a tad. The 560 came home with a killer BG-42 blade on it. Buck is a class act, and goes much further than the extra mile for their customers. I've had dealings with other great companies like Camillus and Chris Reeve, who both showed excellent customer service. Buck falls into this same excellent group and is even a touch better. I got fast and friendly service, timely updates, and extras thrown in just for loving my Bucks. Bucks is the best thing to happen since peanut butter and jelly. Joe and PCKS are unbeatable when it comes to detail and care.
