Got my dealer to call Buck today and check on the status of BG42 Solutions. They said they are all sold. He called a coupla distributers and they said they are on order. So, what's the story on them? Are they shipping yet? Sorry to be a pain, but the anticipation is starting to interfere with my sleep:( .

I'm with Glockdoc, please tell me where I can get one of these so I can get some sleep! Thanks for your help!

I called the factory recently and they said that they won't ship the BG 42s until all 500 are finished. They are well over half way through that number. The only thing I could get on ship dates was "April or May."

Here is the story i got from our engineer today:
The steel mill messed up our run of BG-42 that was due in February. Now, we are unfortunately looking at a couple of months!
If its not one thing, its another.
Sorry for the bad news and loss of sleep!

I just had to tease you guys, I got mine today. I have inside connections, though, one of my best huntin' buddies is a dealer. It is a great knife, everthing is perfect. Only one complaint, the kydex insert in the sheath lets the knife move back and forth a little. I can live with that though.Sorry you guys have to wait, but I got the only one he had. :D

We have a saying where I come from, "Somebody has to be last."

I guess it's my turn:(

Anyway, Congratulations!! Wring it out this week and report back!

Yes it was a BG-42 one, after I get a chance to cut and dig and pry stuff with it I will report back.

Howdy all, sorry I took so long getting back to this, but I have been busy. First of all, let me say that this is a great knife, Buck and Strider work well together. I now have the large tanto, the mini tanto, the Solution, and a custom Strider GB, all in BG-42. Back to the preformance of the Solution, shaving sharp out of the box, great grip, very comfortable in the hand,in regular and reverse grip. Cuts very smooth. (cardboard, small branches, cordage, weedeater line) I haven't gotten a chance to do much prying, but it seems to be pretty solid with this thickness of the blade. Feels good during general wear, only complaint is the kydex insert in the sheath lets the blade wiggle back and forth, causing noise and some small marks on the blade,(if that kind of thing bothers you) Presents pretty fast, good draw. The edge has held up good so far(45-50 cuts in different stuff) I haven't had to touch up the edge yet, but all of my others in BG-42 take an edge easily unless you have dulled it really bad, in which case it takes a good 20-30 minutes on a Sharpmaker to get it back o shaving. All in all, I think this is a great knife and I will continue to use it as my hunting/camping fixed blade choice, at least until my Strider BT gets here, then I may change my mind. Thanks for reading this long a** post.

I just got back from the shop floor and the Solutions in BG-42 are being assembled as I type. I would imagine that they will be sent out to dealers within a week.
Hope this helps,
