Hello,
My uncle recently passed and left me his knife collection. Most are normal manufactured knives, but one was in a very nice case.

On the blade it says:

"Joe Kious, Alamo, TX" It has some kind of polished wood handle, a folder, and has file work done on the back spine of the blade. I will post a picture as soon as I get home.

How much are Joe Kious knives worth? Are they hand-made?

Joe Kious is a long time and very versitile maker with an excellent reputation in making folders and fixed blades. His fit and finish is as good as they come and yes you do have a hand made knife in every sense of the word.

I would be hard to establish a value without a picture, but none of his knives could be called inexpensive. So you have a very nice knife on your hands.

Best thing to do would be to give him a call. Email me if you need a phone number. If memory holds correctly I think he now lives in Kerry Tx, but I will have to look it up when I go home.
