I know that from time to time in any business there are bound to be glitches, and I've read the loooong thread about Pete's Custom and Buck Service --so I thought it only fair to jump in and add my thanks to Joe and the good folks at Buck for helping me with two recent Buck purchases.
I got a custom Buck in trade here on BF, and there were some minor problems with the knife. Then I bought a 1970 near mint 110 in Arizona, and just want an appraisal from Buck. They said they'd take care of both knives for me.
Despite what I read here about some problems with Buck's service level, I've been very happy with the communications and overall service. And I didn't even buy the knives from Buck -- still they stand by their promises, and I couldn't be happier.
Thanks Joe, as we say in the Navy -- BRAVO ZULU !!

I hear you Mike, I've dealt with several larger knife companys and I've never got the degree of service one gets from Buck. Joe goes out of his way with his personal touch too.

Jake -- I've often thought that "instant gratification" is part of the problem. We get so used to things happening "right now" because of the internet and cell phones, that we forget that there are humans in the loop every time a service is provided. If not for those skilled people answering our requests, the junk we'd get in response to our service requests would be the junk we deserve.
Your signature reminded me of how long it took to get mail from home when I first joined the Navy -- average was 2-3 weeks.
So lighten up guys, enjoy first rate service when you get it, and save the complaint strings for legitimate issues. Just my opinion could be wrong,
Mike :)

I have asked Joe at least a dozen questions in the last year and have always gotten a timely response. I have sent a half dozen knives in for reblading or tune-up in that same time period and every one came back faster than seemed humanly possible. Just so you don't think that I'm on the payroll, there was a little problem getting into Peter's Custom Shop prior to the BLADE show, but it works great now.

My 1970 110 arrived in the mail today -- if I didn't know it was mine, I'd swear they dug into their Private Stock of collectibles ! Beautiful job of final buffing, even re-touched the edge. Thanks guys 'n gals, you're doing a great job of maintaining the Buck traditions.!!
