johannesburg south africa knife laws

Traveling to johannesburg south Africa. Can I bring an Emerson knife through customs and what are the carry laws for such a knife?

An Emerson knife is obviously used for self defense which is why I mentioned the brand.

I am in Jhb every 2 weeks or so. (just returned yesterday) I carry several blades and have done so for years without problems. In theory there is a dangerous weapons act prohibiting the carry of certain knives however it is rarely enforced and is only usually done so at political meetings and protests. You should have no problems.
Your Emerson is perfectly legal and you can bring it into the country without any problems.

Hey thank you so much for the info. I am glad that it is not going to be a problem. I was more concerned with customs taking the knives than I was about carrying.
