Hello all, had this one up forsale a few days ago, but ended up keeping it
the knife is so solid, just really like the way it carries!
Since there is no 'chatting' on the forsale area, I thought I'd post some
images here of the knife and you guys/gals can comment on it and maybe
share your images of John Campbell's if you have one or two...

It has a 4" long blade of 440C
African hard wood handle,
tapered tang and nickel silver guard

When handling this knife, it has a very solid feel about it, old timey
ruggedness is what springs to mind, almost cowboy like rugged

It is the larger one in this image;

Quite sharp and easily push cut through this stack of leather

Heavy spine, makes for a wide area to press with your thumb

Tapered tang

Sheath, a very solid thick leather sheath!

It has a a very comfortable guard, providing excellent protection
and at the same time not harming the user with any sharp edges
as some knives are wont to do, depending on the make and style

I may end up making a new sheath for it, one not as wide, but
then again, it's truly a rugged sheath as well, so I'll probably not
put the time into another one. makes me feel like hopping on a
horse and going for a long ride some where :)

Enjoy the images folks!

nice decision to keep her sir.
I was close to pulling the trigger on it more than once , but the archery bug has bit me ( and my sons ) hard.

Sure is sharp too !

Thanks all, yes the little one was also nice, but the ruggedness
of the larger one just really attracts me the most, glad it didn't sell
sorry John ;) keep on drawing that string back!

used this rascal today to open up a clamshell plastic case
you know how those things are a bit hard to cutup, had a
pocket knife handy, well, actually had several handy ;) but
the fixed blade did the better job, just a bit more sure about
itself I would imagine, even with a thick blade, worked very nice :)

Gave her a present last night, a different leather fob and a custom
bead by Fuzzyedge;

works very well to help pull the knife out.

Nicely done up,Gary.
Good to hear about a custom getting used.

Doug
Edit:Gary,you take some great,crystal clear images. :)

Thanks Doug, the bead fob there, I glued in a small wedge of
leather between the two pieces of leather as a stop point so the
bead won't slide down any farther.

Thanks Keith, one thing both knives have in common is the lowly 440C steel
which, now a days seems to be snubbed as a 'common' steel, wasn't that
long ago it was the knife makers favourite steel of choice and I was pleasantly
surprised how well this larger one takes and keeps it's edge.

With all of the new flavours of the month, we shouldn't forget where we came
from, there are still nice knives made with 440C and ATS-34.

Gotta rent a horse and go fer a ride today ;)
