Happty New Year, and I hope everyone has a great holiday.

I am very proud to announce today that John Coffman of Dragonfly Blade Works has graduated my apprentice program. Last week John presented me with a beautifully made knife. It has a 3.25" blade and a 4.5" handle. The steel is A2 tool steel 3/32" thick with a tapered tang! The handle is natural canvas with blue burlatex bolsters. John nailed this little knife, it is really beautiful. It features John's signature pinout, which I always thought was a neato and a very recognizable configuration.

John is now managing Olde Towne Cutlery in addition to making his beautiful knives. I hope y'all are as excited about his work as I am and continue to support him and the Tigners over at Olde Towne.

And again, Happy New year y'all!

Congrats, John!!

What a beautiful knife! I think John puts a lot of thought into his designs, right down to the makers mark and unique pinouts. Glad to see him graduate from the apprenticeship and continue to work with knives at OTC.

Well done, John!! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks guys! As always, Andy is too generous with his words. I learned a ton from one of my absolute favorite people in the world. Andy has always been more than willing to share his knowledge not only with me but with the knife making community at large. In my mind he has been one of, if not the most influential knife maker there is in terms of the number of new knife makers he's mentored and apprenticed. Many full time knife makers owe their start in the craft to Andy. I will forever be grateful for my time at Fiddleback Forge and for the life long skill I was able to learn from a true master of the craft while there.

Thanks also to all of you here on the forum who supported me by purchasing my knives while I was just getting going I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them! I'm truly enjoying this new chapter in my career here at Olde Towne Cutlery and will certainly continue to make knives.

If anyone wants to know the kind of guy John is...just read the above. The man has character and humility in spades. And he happens to make a pretty damn good knife to boot! Well done, sir.

John, so happy for you buddy!
