just got this email from joh cohea.
someone contact him please.

Hi,
How are you doing today?.I am really sorry to bother you with this email but i just want you to know what i am facing right now.I am sorry that i didn't inform you about my traveling to London UK for a Seminar,i am presently in London now but unfortunately for me i lost my wallet which contains my money and other valuable things in a taxi.I can easily access the internet for now but i do not have access to phone.I want you to assist me urgently with a loan of $2,500 to sort-out my hotel bills and to get myself back home. I have spoken to the embassy here but they are not responding to the matter effectively,i promise i will pay you back as soon as i return.Kindly let me know if you can be of help so that i can send you the details you will use to send the money to me here in London. John

I got that one from the (Hacker) John - for a minute I was concerned but as I read I realized that this wasn't John talking.

Thanks for posting this casterOTroy.

I just got that E mail from and thought it was odd that John and Rick would get into the same mess word for word

well this is what happened i guess.
the guy who screwed ricks account is trying to hack into everyone on his list.
fortify your passwords guys.
i have deployed a 256 encryption buffer on my email.
this dude tries messing with me and he gets smoked.
lol.
jokes apart.
this is crazy.shouldn't have happened.

Yes, the egg sucking dogs got me too! Please know that I am fine and this is a scam! Unless the Mississippi river goes to London, I am a long ways away! Thanks for your concern to the BF members who have contacted me personally!!

I just got the same one, I am glad to here you are fine John. Apparently the scammer doesn't know we can check on these things. Unfortunately, there may be someone on Johns email list that is not familiar with the scam, and may not think to check first.

yeh.John maybe you could email your contacts asking them to fortify their password strength.
i would approach the cops if my account was ever hacked.

Awww, shoot! And I sent John the check...LOL.

Dave

I thought I would do a little test to see if it really was John, so I asked him "If you really are John, where is your raciest body piercing at?" I am not sure how I would know that, but the scammer don't know I don't know. John, if you keep that location a secret we will always be able to tell if it is really you the next time you are in trouble in Europe and need our help. It will be our little code. But you gotta tell one of us so we know. Tell David Lisch :D:D

I apologize

:D:D:D!These idiots went so far as to ask for 2500.00!Now if they had been reasonable and ask for 50 or 60 bucks to help with bail money, they might have scored a few bucks:D:D:D!

i got one from a prominent maker on this forum wanting to sell me viagra:eek:. If that maker is selling viagra i apologize but i laughed and deleted it.

This is not just a knifemaker hacker problem , from what i know , some of my contact had also been hacked ,

one good way to secure your passwords and online system is to apply .. complex passwords .

here is some example of complex passwords .

adding Number 1234567890
adding symbol !@#$%^&*()-+
adding CAP - ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
and last of all . abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

so if you want a complex passwords you may for example . set .

P@$5wORd -
combining the above will give you a good passwords .
try to keep your passwords in the 8-10 letter range .

good luck .

another good way is repeat order .

eg.
you set up think of 5 random build up .

!Qa$i

you repeat it twice

after that adding a Key to end . so you got a XXXXX-XXXXX-YW code .

--------------------

here some extra Note , if you guys have any contact and can report this to police or some online crime lab .

here is some info i got from that hacker ..

-----------------

Here are the details to help me send the money through Western Union

I have cancel the name cos it was my friends name that was hacked but the address gaven is as below .
