Looking at the images I recently took, thought I'd share this with the
Custom area folks, a neat fighter by John while he was a JS

5.5" forged blade of 52100 steel

Rock solid when assembled, stag has a nice angle to it, providing a great grip!
Enjoy!

Crisp and Clean.
Nice Take Down.
When I said Crisp and Clean,I meant the Fighter,
but so are the images.
Thanks,Gary.

Thanks guys, the images were shot using my Canon Dslr 20D and a 17-40 lens
and special thanks to Win Heger, he provided the light tent that I'm shooting
my studio strobe through to light up the knife, works great. Even though these
were shot fairly quickly, you can get a good look at the detail in each shot.
I'm biased ;) but I liked how they turned out :)

I like the knife-John did excellent work as a JS. I actually have a very similar stag takedown hunter.

Too bad we don't see much of Johns knives anymore.

That's a Excellent Fitch Gary,it's the Perfect Size for an EDC.I've got one of his JS Reformer Bowies,I Love Big John Bowies & Fighters. He did seem to experiment more as a JS than he does as an MS.That's not to say I don't like his MS work because I Do-ALOT.

NIce knife Gary and good job on the photos. Glad you have a nice tent setup to use with your DSLR. Always love to see good knife images.

I like that one a lot. Nice sheath too. Very nice photos as well. Take-down knives are neat when all the parts are finished nice like that. It's like knowing that your underwear is clean when you go out, just in case.

A very nice knife. Too bad John doesn't seem to making many, if any knives these days.

Why is that?

This is a very nice piece Gary, and as others have mentioned, beautifully photographed. I had a similar JS piece from John (not take down) that I quite miss.

I think family matters took precedence over knifemaking.

I think you have raised the art of kind and gentle spin, to an art form.

For the record, I think that Fitch is superb.

I believe John Fitch. MS was at the AR Show. I don't know how he faired.

Thanks guys and yes, glad to have that light tent, along with the
white lightning strobe it really helps, the strobe allows me to shoot
at 1/250 of a second which helps hand holding both the knife and
the camera :)

Peter,
John was at the microshow. He had several nice knifes including a nice damascus fighter/bowie with stag. I'm not sure if he sold out or not. The AKA has his phone number listed. I watched John forge a full tang hunter one afternoon, and must say.....they guy can pound some steel.

Very nice Fitch, but I've never known John to use 52100. Are you sure about the steel?

Pretty sure as the person bought it direct from John
G2

Edited to add that I contacted the other person and
he confirmed that indeed it is 52100 used on this blade
but you're right to ask Danbo as John is more well known
for his 1084 blades...
