I recently found out that Mr. Greco will no longer be making knives due to health problems. I have wanted one of his bullet-proof folders, but I can't remember what the series was called. Does anyone know what I can expect to pay for one?

Thanks!

That's very bad news. Greco made really outstanding knives for unbelievably reasonable prices. Very sad to see him out of the industry and I wish him the best of luck with his health situation.

Yep, you'll find John's knives at the previously listed site. However, he may have run out of some of the knives. To find the page with the Whisper folder and the Falcon, go to the "knives for $75" area. You should call him before ordering to make sure he has some in stock. I bought one of each folder and like them both. The Faclon, as John told me, was designed for self-defense purposes and is very difficult to open and close 1-handed (definitely need 2 hands). The Whisper folder has a slightly different handle shape and is made for single-handed opening and closing. Both are frame-locks, but the Whiper folder (specify you want the folder, as there is also a Whisper fixed blade) is much easier to open/close. I find the Falcon's handle to be more comfortable and don't mind the 2-handed aspect of it. Either way you go, you'll be getting a high-quality knife at a great price.

John is very friendly to work with and you'll enjoy doing business with him. Oh yeah, he sells repair kits for the folders for around $9. The kit contains a spare of every part in the knife except for the blade and handle. I got one and am glad I did so. If need be, I can totally rebuild the knife.

Ken Cox had recommended the Whisper Fixed Blade to me, but I fell in love at first sight with the Drop Point Dangler, for sale at $35 + $15 shipping. That little knife just has to be the prettiest little fixed blade that I have ever seen. Give John a call, he is a very charming man with whom to talk and, if he isn't busy, he seems to like to chat with knife knuts. :)

That "Dangler Caper" is a super knife. It's made from 52100 instead of the 8670 John used on most of his products. Easy to sharpen and holds the edge for a very long time. I sent the one with black micarta scales to Normark for a custom Kydex neck sheath. The black micarta scales are thinner than the yellow micarta or wood scales, and does not have a pronounced signature. I favor small knives for cutting (ever see what a surgeon can do with a 3/4 " scapel blade ?), and this little dude does not play second fiddle to any of my knives including the Doziers.
