Part chisel/prybar, part axe.
One of the coolest axes i've ever seen!

Jay,
Part hatchet, part slick. I would be interested in hearing how the pivot stand up to impact of hatchet use. Looks like a nice crafter hatchet for sure.

Certainly a novel-looking and interesting implement. As to how well or long the through-pin will hold up to continual use as a striking tool remains to be seen and I'm not overly optimistic. As a crafter's tool or something for the camper's kit bag it ought to be OK though.

I agree with 300. Any tool to be used as a leverage instrument will have an obvious weak point in the pin area. If I want a pry bar, I'll buy a pry bar, not a combo tool with moving parts. I do like the look of the axe for smaller tasks and as a packable kit blade.

It is not meant for prying.

But all speculations will be academic as I haven`t seen one of those since mid 80`s.
Could be a good reason for that though.
