Hi all.

Here are some photos of the excellent knives John Horrigan brought to the Blade Show this year. I don't think these photos ever were posted here, and wanted to give everyone a look:

Crown Dagger, inlaid with rubies, sapphires and diamonds, elephant ivory handle and lots of gold!

Cowboy Bowie. This is one of my absolute favorite blade profiles:

John had a great show, which was well deserved. I got to bring one home (when I wasn't looking my wife picked up a small belt knife from him for my Father's Day gift, a great surprise.). I've been using it daily, and proud to have a Horrigan blade on my belt.

I got to see those at the CKCA banquet this year.
Really exquisite. That crown dagger blew me away!

Nice stuff from John. Got to handle a couple at the CKCA dinner. John told me he's getting time to do what he wants these days...good things are happening! Ben

Whoah! What?! That is sick! :0

Always liked Horrigan's work, just from pics and the like, and I find myself either nodding my head thoughtfully over his well considered and executed utility knives, or gasping for breath over his Artistic creations.
He really seems to be the whole package to me.

The man can certainly make an outstanding knife. No matter utility, art knife, hunter, bowie or tactical; ALL top notch.
Ever check out his sheaths? Well it's obvious Paul Long and him have spend time together. He's also a good friend!

The crown dagger is spectacular. I wish I could remember the amount of gold he used, but it escapes me. Hopefully John will chime in.

Kevin, I was out at John's shop a couple years ago, right after he had spent time being tutored by Paul in sheath work. He almost immediately got the proper equipment and began making top shelf sheaths. It's been the same with engraving. He's serious about sole authorship, and he's got the skills to pull off just about anything he tries. You may remember some pics a while back of a portrait he painted of his brother. He is multi talented, and boy is that an understatement.

Thanks so much for posting these pictures! I took some pics of the crown dagger, and I would have posted them here but the pictures really sucked and would have done discredit to such a beautiful knife.

That was probably my favorite knife that I saw at Blade this year. If I had not already spent a fortune, I would have bought it myself. And that Cowboy Bowie is awfully damn nice, too.

And besides all of that, John is real, real good people.

Wow, Wow, Wow. I'm a bit lost for words............. Thanks for sharing them.
Cheers Keith

I saw the dagger in Atlanta as well. The piece is spectacular! Once you get over the initial captivating look of thi knife, there are so many fine details that really complete the piece. One that really sticks in my mind is how the gold inlay vines on th blade go down the Ricasso over the edge of the plunge cut, through the plunge cut and continue down the blade.

John's a great guy who applies talent and energy across the whole spectrum of knife-making, from tactical to high art.

Thanks to Eli for a look at a range of John's knives.
