This one is frequently in my pocket. Blade is 2 3/4 in. Handle is titanium with carbon fiber inserts which makes for a very light knife. The inserts are not flat. This creates a subtle palm swell and an interesting visual pattern. The filework wraps all the way around the knife and is very attractive. Fit and finish are typical JP - perfect in every way.

VERY elegant looking knife, an excellent purchase.

Wish I could afford something like that!

I really like the way there is a guard very elegantly part of the handle. Sweet knife!!!

Great looking knife. No surprise that it's frequently in your pocket.

Comparitively speaking, this knife wasn't terribly expensive. I'd have to check my records to be sure but six hundred comes to mind.

"Out of the ordinary for John Perry isn't it?" - Kevin Jones
Kevin, I'm guessing we don't see but a fraction of what John makes even though his annual output isn't huge. When I first met John at BLADE in 2003 he said that he had been known primarily for his folders and my impression is that he experiences an ongoing significant demand for his folders from both repeat and new customers who don't post pictures of them. One thing I like about John is that, at least based on what he brings to shows, he makes a point of covering both ends of the knife buyer spectrum from super-duper high end award winning art knives and bowies to simple hunters and relatively affordable folders like this one. I don't dare try to speak for John here but these are my observations as one who actively tries to follow and collect his work.

David, you have a good eye. For a custom folder that actually gets used, the feature you point out is truly useful, and proective of the index finger. Also, the filework on the spine provides grip for the thumb when using the forward part of the blade.
John Perry seems to pay close attention to those kinds of details.

I would prefer it without the filework, but it is still one heck of a good looking knife. It has some design features that I really like, such as the guard and that it's a lockback.
