Found this in my wife's grandpa's farm shop after he passed. It was in pretty rough shape. It had some kind of chemical gunk all over it that took the dye off the bone on the unshielded side. I cleaned it up and sharpened the blades. It was a hard used knife that saw little care or maintenance. Except for the make, this is about what the first knife I ever owned back in the early 1960's looked like. I wish I still had that one. This looks like a better made knife though.

On the main blade is stamped John Primble, Belknap, Hdw & Mfg Co.. On the backside of the blade is the number 3335.

Thanks guys. Thanks for that info 6.0! I have an Old Timer 4" stockman given to me by my dad 30+ years ago.

Hi,

There isn't anything like finding a piece of family memorabilia. Especially when you can use it and remember by it.

Truely a great find for you!

I still have mine...EXACTLY like the one you have! My Dad bought it for me in 1961 from the Western Auto Store in Harrison, Ohio. Even after all the abuse I heaped on it growing up, it's still in fine shape.

Excellent! Not sure when my wife's grandpa bought it. I'm sure he bought it in a hardware store in S.E. Iowa where he farmed. Unless you mean the Old Timer stockman? That is probably from the mid 70's.
