John Primble knives

What's the story on these? I've ran across a few while I've been looking for something else and I've noticed a lot of them are marked Maysville, KY or Manchester, OH which is about 40mi from where I grew up. I thought that was pretty cool and now I'd like to pick up a few.

I also noticed some are marked Belknap and there were a few that said something like India Knife Co. I don't know anything about vintage knives so I don't know what the differences are. Any info would be appreciated.
 
Primble knives made after the Belknap HDW. & MFG. CO. stamp were made after the Belknap Company went bankrupt. The John Primble name was purchased in Bankruptcy and used on knives made thereafter, specifically with the tang stamps that you named. India Steel Works John Primbles were older knives and made before the Belknap HDW. & MFG. CO. tang stamp. :)
