I've been a big fan of John Salley for many years and it's a shame that he left knifemaking to focus on his aerospace machining endeavors at his machine shop in Tipp City, Ohio.
I have a number of his pieces from the exceptionally diverse variety he made over the years but I had not seen these small 'Gentleman's' knives. The blades are basically 2 3/4", 3", and 3 1/4" done in ATS-34 stainless with 416 faceted bolsters...mirrored on the bevels and hand-rubbed on the flats...two with jigged-bone and the smallest one with Desert Ironwood.
John's knives are as flawless as any I have ever seen so I can only imagine the quality of the work that comes from his machine shop.
All three have great sheaths but the middle one was made by Bill French of Burbank, California....IMHO, one of the premier sheathmakers of the day.
