A small one for me, but when I saw this last year I fell for it instantly. John White is a Journeyman Smith, winner of the ABS Peck Award 2004 (Best JS), and a true gentleman who belies his relative newness on the knife making scene by quitely going about making some of the nicest hunters I have seen.

The little'un has a 5in Blade, measuring a tad over 10in OAL. Some of the smoothest Merino sheephorn crowns one of Johns first damascus blades. The balde is a double twist forged from 1084 and 15n20, hardened overall, tempered 455 degrees, back and tang drawn.

Beautiful balance, the feel and comfort in the hand is sublime, the nickel silver fittings, simply and tastefully fluted, complete a classic drop point hunter with a twist. Johns FnF is top notch.

Very nice knife! I count myself one of many folks who like John's work. (Wonderful photograph too, Stephen.)

I remember that one well. Every knife that John had with him I would have been happy to make my own. This one was a great snag - striking damascus pattern and real nice horn.
