Wondering if anyone has any information on the tanto/wakizashis that John duels with. Specifically, looking for dimensions of the sword or the maker? I’m guessing the blades are about 16 inches long. Kinda in between a tanto and wak....super cool.

Without a picture to go by, it's hard to say. At about 16 inches, the most common mini-wakizashi, maxi-tanto in Hollywood land is the Magnum Tanto from Cold Steel.

The Cold Steel Dragonfly O Tanto has a 15 inch blade. I have a wakizashi with a 20 inch blade and a large tanto with a 12 inch blade so a 16 inch blade would split the difference nicely. What a first world problem. Thanks!

If you want a well made japanese style blade for a nice price that you can customize a bit i recommend Swords of Northshire.

Not a good place to shop if you don't want a chinese made blade though.

Nice thing about SON is that they can do more than what the site says if you request it in the comments section before ordering.
For example you can change the tip shape, change the curvature of the blade, change the ito wrap to more simple battle wrap or choose one of the more unique japanese blade shapes.
