I'm trying to learn more about a sheath knife that was given to me over ten years ago. It seems it was made by a guy named John Wilcox, and the person who gave it to me said that he was from the part of West Virginia where I live. He died in 2015. I found his obituary in a Fairmont newspaper, which mentions him being a knifemaker in his retirement. The handle is deer antler, the knife is about 8.5 inches long overall, and his last name is engraved on the blade (see photo). I'm considering selling it but I have no idea how his knives are valued on the collector market, if at all. Multiple searches haven't turned up anything other than the obit. Anyone here know anything about this guy and his work?
