Found a bottle at my local store. Dust all over the box from sitting in the corner so long. Is 200.00 a good price? Never drink the blue, just the RED. I enjoy premium RUM instead, but like a good Scotch now and then.

That looks like a good deal b-square!

The cheapest I've seen it in stores around here is $169-$179.

I've never had the stuff, but I loves me the BevMo.

Also, I hope that drinking premium rum involves wearing an eye patch and a parrot.

That stuff is the Key to endless amounts of rare INFI just ask Jerry!:D

$200.00 is retail for it, but Blue Label is leaps and bounds better then Red Label. If you want another good JW scotch for about half the price of Blue Label try Gold Label.

Enjoy!:D

I am defiantly partial to an Australian rum called Bundaberg OP:thumbup:
To bad I can't get it in the U.S.:thumbdn:

IF I were you I would buy a sampler pack first...I am partial to the black morso myself but I own all 4 kinds. Its just preference to me.

I never brought myself to buy a bottle; there's so many outstanding single malt at 1/4 the price of JWB...mind you, I tried the Gold (which is a blend as the Blue); quite good, and the Green, to my taste, even better!

I have a rum kick lately, but for scotch, I enjoy Aberlour products (10, 15, A'bunadh), the Longmorn 15, the Dalwhinnie, etc...And for a special threat, Islay malts (Lagavulin on top of the list, for me).

I've had two bottles of Blue in the past ten years. One given as a gift, the 2nd bought by my wife from a nimrod at a shop who confused blue with black and sold it to her for $38.50. The box has this nice little satin lining around the bottle - it actually looks like a little coffin with the bottle laid in there. Each bottle is numbered and you get a little booklet that looks like a passport describing the details of it.

Blue is extremely smooth, goes down like butter. In fact I tend to find blue too smooth. It is a blended scotch and my problem with it is that it lacks character or at least has no single identifiable feature. Most single malts you can least say what is distinct about them. If you really like scotch, then for $100 you can buy a bottle of aged Lagavaulin that is both smooth but having distinct Islay character. If you want distinct - as in holy crap that is DISTINCT, then buy a bottle of Ardbeg. If you don't like lots of peat then stay away from Ardbeg. One more favorite of mine but is harder to track down - a 15 year old bottle of Lafroige - heaven!

Rum ehh? Have you tried Mount Gay Eclipse or Extra Old? I like the Eclipse. Not sure what range you look at when you buy.

I'm just starting :o But mainly "sipping" rum if you know what I mean...I had Angostura 1919 and Mount Gay XO so far...I don't want to hijack the post, but I started a discussion on my recent rum journey here...

Ron Zacapa 23, Pyrat XO, Cruzan Single Barrel, El Dorado 15, are rums I've tasted so far but the Mount Gay and Zaya are on my list to try.

MG is far from expensive(if your lookin into JWB) at around 30ish. I like alot of scotches in the 40-80 range myself.

In case anyone else is about to go out and Google for it, the spelling is Laphroaig. Also happens to be one of my favourites too :)

No way I'm spending that much on a bottle of booze. $200 can get you a piece of Infi instead. Infi lasts longer. Budweiser is good enough for me.

It surprises me that Jerry even sells Infi knives to someone who doesn't partake in the drinking of fine spirits.:D

Jerry thinks more of the "Spirit" of the Season.

Drinking the Spirits of Christmas Present, Remembering(sort of) the Spirits of Christmas past, and Dreaming of Drinking the Spirits of Christmas Future.
