I went back and forth between trying to figure out whether to buy the BK2 and BK9 or the Junglas and ESEE 5. Thanks to the reviews here and the fact that Ethan Becker actually gets on the forum and makes everything right if you have any problems I went with the Beckers. I preferred the handle contour and blade shapes of the Beckers but I was back and forth because of the warranty, but after reading on here I feel I am in good hands. So I purchased the BK22 (wanted the other sheath), the BK9, and the Remora. These will join my Mora Bushcraft Black, SAK Swiss Champ, and my Leatherman Wave. Along with the Bahco Laplander, I feel these are the best knives together for bushcraft, survival, etc. These are the five that go with me, anytime I head to the woods. All I did to the BK's was put the handles on and strop them and now they are shaving sharp and have already had a pretty good workout.

I feel they are excellent knives and I have a lot of knives. Almost everything Buck makes, and specialty knives, ie, skinning, filleting, etc. But for woods cary, I feel this is the best combination. If I can't accomplish it with those five, then I don't need to be in the woods...lol. I have over 20 years bushcrafting experience, and really appreciate tools that can do what I want them to do without worry of breakage. I do feel my faithful Husqvarna forest axe may get lonely though as my need to take it has greatly decreased. Don't get me wrong, I love the axe and it has its place, especially if I am planning any two week or longer excursions, but for the most part anything less and it will be overkill. Thanks again for making such a great product!!

Very nice. Welcome. You may find that this is just the start. After using them Beckers you seem to end up with more.;)

Welcome to the forums, brother.

Great choice in blades, those should go well with your Black and Champ.

Already sporting micarta, they look ready for some action.

Not sure why Flikr photos not showing up, but I'm sure we'll get it sorted out.

Once again, welcome to the Becker forum and Bladeforums.

Thank you both for the welcome!! And thank you for fixing my photo. I have no idea why it wouldn't show up...lol I am really impressed with the Becker line of knives that is for sure! Yep, I ordered the micarta handles at the same time I ordered the blades due to the recommendations here. I really like the feel they add to the knives. The stock handles weren't bad, but I really like the micarta.

Awesome set of Beckers you have there!
Should serve you well throughout the years.
Welcome to the forum!
Stick around and join in the fun!

Decked out right off the bat, very nice! No way you'll be let down with that set up. Glad you found us, speaking from experience, this forum has a way of steering you the right way for sure. Welcome and thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience on your first purchase. Great post!

You have made the right decision! Good looking blades and good blade choices. You will learn lots from this bunch, great group of people here - welcome.

Thank you everyone!!! I really feel welcome here!! I have been lurking for quite a while and I am glad to be a member. I love the knives. I will probably strip them some day and then square the spines. But for now I am going to use them how they are. My other knives all have a 90 degree for a ferro and to be honest I have used both the bk2 and 9 to slice tomatoes thin enough to read through them and I didn't have any negative effect from the coating. So I will probably leave it until it starts to wear out and then will strip them. I doubt I will force a patina as I have other high carbon steel knives and have not experienced rust, I just use them and oil them with mineral oil when necessary and they developed a nice patina on their own. Thank you all again for the warm welcome!!

Thank you all!! I really like them! The factory scales aren't bad at all but these really make the knives shine. They really seem to show their capabilities when chopping. They diminish the vibrations a lot. Plus the knives actually feel more balanced with them, even though they had a great balance to begin with. It just seems to perfect them. I can best describe it like buying dinner at a restaurant and getting a beer with it. You don't need the beer as the dinner will do, but it makes it so much better!! Lol

I would probably go with I don't need the dinner as the beer will do!
