Woohoo!!! :D Landed one of my grail knives, a Blue/Black G10-handled Anorexic Hog Muk LE, #711, for a sweet deal late last week courtesy of one of our own Kydex benders, Al Welke!!! THANK YOU AL!!!

After only two days in transit, it landed yesterday, which was a nice surprise as tracking showed it not getting here until tomorrow. Unusual for that to happen, but I'm certainly not complaining. :)

I was out of town for work back when the Muk ganzaa / ordering period happened, and I completely missed it. I've been keeping my eyes open for a good deal on a user for about a year now, and saw Al's for sale post and it was just meant to be! It had some scratches in it from something embedded inside of the Kydex sheath (whch I was able to get out), so I pulled out the Flitz and some fine ScotchBrite today and worked on them a bit. They didn't come completely out, but now they only show in the right lighting (you can make them out in the pics). While I was at it, I grabbed the dremel and polished up the flares on the stainless steel grip scale tubes. They took a mirror polish in no time, and give the knife a bit more of a classy look. I also took it to the sander and polished up the convex edge and gave it a bit more of a point. This thing, with its ~6.5 degree primary grind, is just SCARY sharp now!!!

Anyway, we got another 7" of snow last night, so went out today and got some pictures of my new Muk in the white stuff.

Here it is in the free Kydex sheath it came with. Made by, of course, Al! While I'm not a huge fan of the purple, it works, it was free, I'm confident in my sexuality ;), my oldest daughter likes it, and since this is going to be a user hunting knife I don't really care what color it is.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed the pics!!! :D

Thanks guys!!! I've been playing with it since it arrived. Just spent a few minutes filleting some junk mail. I would have settled for a good price on any of the different handle choices, but it was a real bonus to get the color I wanted!

they do pretty good for food prep, too - so you can use it outside of hunting season. ;)

Thanks Garth! Yeah, I was pretty jazzed to get the blue/black! Cool number to boot! :D

Sweet! Welcome to the Muk club! Very cool that you got your color combo to boot! Now if we can just get a Swamp Rat Muk for the win! :D

Congrats! It's a great looking knife, thank you for sharing the story and the pictures

Schaweeeet! It's the only Busse I still own. I don't think I could part with mine. I wish I could have kept them all but the Muk will have to do for now. If you hunt you will really appreciate it even more. Great color combo.
