Doesn't it strike you as odd that Jackknife never seems to age despite the onslaught of time? Must be iron pills or something...I dare not consider any more sinister possibilities. ;)

I am calling this a near-peanut. Maybe I will still get to attend meetings if I sit in the back and keep quite.........300Bucks

This one just came in the mail this afternoon. I haven't decided on whether or not I will force a patina or let it happen naturally. My cv Cases are running about half and half forced and natural.
Finally got my little yella.

Combat, I love the peanut and I'm happy to be back in the club, they make a great little companion.
Can't wait to hear what you think.

Yobbos, I say let it do it's own thing, that way it will be "honest" patina. It'll have some stories to tell about getting that patina, instead of a one day warm vinegar. I love a forced patina, don't get me wrong, but nothing beats a good ol' honest days work patina. I love the one on my yeller nut, it looks great.

I'll add fresh pics soon.

The best patina I've found is to take it fishing, and clean some pan fish. I don't know if it's the acids in the fish blood and guts, or what, but it gives the carbon steel a really neat blueish hue, kind of like a muted rainbow effect.

Besides, I think it's an unwritten law in some places, that you have to go fishing with a yella handle knife.

Looks like the Peanut Man AKA Jack Knife mustache must have gotten grey and he shaved it off. LOL

Congrats on the Peanut CJJ. I love that pattern. It was my introduction into the world of small knives. While I still have my Bonestag Case Peanut, lately I have been carrying my Autumn Orange, Barnyard jigged Bone handled two blade Tiny Toothpick. It is a tiny bit longer then the Peanut, but otherwise very similar. However, it has a certain...... pannache? It's definitely a cool little knife, with it's curved Toothpick blade and it's pen blade. I mention this because, not only will you find that peanuts multiply, they seem to call other "little" knives into your pockets. LOL.

Yeah, you gotta be careful, peanuts can be a gateway drug to other little adictions. Like tiny toothpicks, min trappers, Eisenhower's, pen's, and I think we even have a tuxedo addict around here someplace.:)

Congrats and welcome! My yellow CV peanut has a ton of miles on it. I recently shelved it because of my new interest in the single spring half whittlers. I'm sure its a passing fancy and the peanut will be back in the pocket soon.

Posts like this one \/ aren't helping me at all though :p
