Hey to all on bf.
I recently traded with a member on here for a hogb8.great trade thanks again chris i loved the hogb8 from the second i had it in my lil trotter .
And after some use and a bit of contemplation i decided i needed to strip it i couldnt get citristrip as advised and because the weather has been crap couldnt use paint stripper so i chose a different avenue .
I used acetone based nail polish nail remover as it can be used indoors which suited me .i decided i wanted the ricasso and choil to remain coated as the tang just as a rust preventer the business end is stripped still needs a few touches near the ricasso in the sweeps from blade to ricasso otherwise im pretty happy with it .
And you were right chris it is a lovely stripper flawless underneath the coating .
Hope ye enjoy pics the tools i used were clay knives plastic and a sanding pad and 600 grit sandpaper20190323_114832.jpg 20190322_155443.jpg 20190322_155950.jpg 20190322_162046.jpg 20190322_162054.jpg 20190323_114335.jpg 20190323_114352.jpg 20190323_114832.jpg 20190323_114836.jpg 20190323_122623.jpg 20190323_122628.jpg 20190322_155443.jpg 20190322_155443.jpg 20190322_155443.jpg 20190322_155443.jpg 20190322_155950.jpg 20190322_162046.jpg 20190322_155443.jpg 20190322_155950.jpg 20190322_162046.jpg 20190322_162054.jpg

Looking good, Jay! I love to see you treating her right! She was very clean underneath that coating! I don't see any grinder gremlins at all!

If my other one doesn't sell, I'm going to strip her too!

Im delighted how spotless it is underneath on the other hand any blemishes or dimples add character.
Was an experience .they make nice strippers chris

Good job! You went in balls out and did it! With the FFG blades, they (so far for me) are going to be gremlin free has been my experience but not the saber grinds - I've got one I partially stripped *just the grind* but I can see through the coating the top side of the blade would be real ugly if I did the whole thing as it shows in the coating- no one else would notice it but knowing what to look for I can see it. I can't tell from the pics but you know to get the decarb off right? wet sand that puppy with some 600 until your paper stays clean - if there's any decarb on it the paper will load up black instantly- that will start to rust in about 2 minutes if there's any left on it.
She's going to slide through your work like hot butter now!

The pics got muddled up after i uploaded them in sequence .
Ah well should of done a naming poll lol
