I registered to join the usn a month or two ago and still haven't received a confirmation email. I tried to contact the moderators via the site, but still nothing. Is there any trick to joining. Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to BladeForums!

Sorry, can't help you on that one. You ought to try it here for awhile.

Thanks Slatts, I plan on sticking around. I'm really into emersons at the moment, and it seems he has a pretty big presence there, hence my wanting to join.

Your joing the Navy so you'll be issued an Emerson?

EDIT: Ooooh, it's a forums. You said usn, nevermind.

th usn is kind of a secret organization and its not easy to get into and then you have a probationary period. dont tell too many people about it.

I joined the USN twenty five years ago, it was pretty easy but I was not issued a knife.

Goober...please do not start threads on this forum about another forum. If you have an issue with enrollment send the admin of that forum an email.

Reported..

I apologize. I had assumed that this forum as well as several others on the internet were all part of a larger community of knife enthusiasts, and that it would not be unusual for people to participate on several different sites, and that these people could help me out.

reported means?

And the big deal about this is what exactly? I just re-read the rules, and nothing in relation to this query is mentioned. Are you an admin here Ren?

No I am not an Admin here...however I have been here long enough to know that cross forum questions, discussions, and at worst flame wars are not appreciated by either forum admin. THis has happened in the past and is not a good thing. So most threads of this nature are locked. Again I said if you wish to ask a question of another boards policy it is best to contact them. Dont you think?

It's just rude. You don't ask in General here about signing up for a competing forum. It's like going to Tim Horton's and asking about the menu at Starbucks. This forum is part of a commercial venture.

Goober no problem...
Reported means that a moderator can lock or move this thread...again no big deal. Welcome to BFC..and enjoy yourself...and Happy New year...

please send me an email so I can respond to you...:)

Rude? Hardly. It was a simple question.

Are you suggesting that just because something is a commercial venture that all discussion pertaining to outside elements should, by nature, be censored or outlawed? That doesn't say much for the strength or sustainability of the venture then does it?

If you guys want to make it out to be more than the obviously simple query that it was, I would propose that to be your challenge and nobody else's.

Lighten up Francis...this conversation is over...

Ren may not be a mod...but I am.

Cross forum posting is not allowed. Period. Not in this sub-forum or any other forum on BFC.

Asking about registering on another forum is not allowed. Period. Take it up with that forums admin. If you don't like it.....too bad.

Read the rules pertaining to this sub-forum.

Thread is locked.

The conversation IS over. :D
Locked.

Generally speaking, we don't encourage cross-forum anything. They do their thing, we do ours. We're entitled to give inaccurate advice about whatever we please, but I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate our inflciting that on them. USN doesn't have an authorized field representative here.

As for reporting ... we are a community here, and we look out for each other. The small triangle with an exclamation point in it is the report button. Use it to notify the moderators of anything they might need to check on. It keeps the forum running smoother if we can cut off arguments before they get heated.

Edit: there's cross-posting for you -- two mods got here at the same time. :)

I'm going to add that the administrator at Bladeforums.com, and the administrator at USN have an agreement in place that states that neither forum will cross reference any material, or issues between them.

In summary, we do not discuss the USN here under any circumstances.

Thank you.
