Hello all - I just discovered Jonny's knives the other day and was really impressed with his designs. I was able to get one of his mini-drop points on pre-order which I'm really looking forward to. It will look like this one, but have orange g-10 with blue liners. Would love to hear some thoughts from people that have some of his work. Thanks all.

The pics look interesting, googled Jonny Mac Knives though and no site came up, does he not have a website?

Really nice combination of lines and organic rounding on the handle. What did that knife set you back?

It seems he only has a facebook page right now.

They suck, Jonny is a horrible person and uses aluminum for his blades!

Ha!... just messin' around. I had the oppourtunity to meet Jonny at Blade 2011 and look over several of his knives. His quality has gone through the roof and he is very serious about his love for knifemaking. He wants to make the best blade he can, period.

AND he is a really nice, honest, guy.... but don't tell him I told you that or he'll think he's getting the mental edge on me.

I handled some of Jon's knives at Blade as well. He is doing very good work. I love the handles on the ones I held....very comfy.

I was lucky enough to meet Jon at Blade, spend some excellent time with him and I purchased one of his knives.

For someone who has just recently started making knives seriously his blades are really nice.
The design is excellent, the ergonomics good, and the knives are very well built. As for the price they are unbeatable.

Here is my little guy........

I personally know Jon and own 2 of his knives. I have carried them on a regular basis. His design sensibilities are very good for someone so early in their career and his execution is a cut above a great many established names. His grinds will impress you and the attention to detail on the edge geometry is very good. I say you should get one now if you want one. He is passionate about raising his game and it is just going to get tougher and more expensive as time goes on.

He is already thinking of making big steps and has collaborations in the works.... he is making all the right moves for a bright future in the game.

The handles are great on these! I have one for sale at the moment as he is making a semi-custom XL for me.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm really looking forward to getting one of his pieces. Glad to hear so many positive comments about his work and the man himself.

I love the look of these knives! Definately going to get one for myself!

What is the name of the style in the OP?

Thanks Thrill, now I see that in the OP... the blade looks longer than 2 3/4" in those pics.

I've met Jon here in the Bay Area and he is definitely a good guy. His kydex stuff looks really good too from the pics I've seen.

EDIT: Found the post with the pic I was thinking of.

Yeah, I agree. The pic does look like it's a little bigger. When I first saw the picture I was thinking about 4" for some reason. I wonder if he has a bigger version or if he's thought about making one that's larger.
