Hello everyone and thanks to the moderators for allowing me to join this site! I've been a sword and knife enthusiast since I was about 5 years old when I got my very first Swiss Army knife. Since then, I've gathered a collection of 50+ knives and swords and my collection continues to grow. Recently, I stumbled across a knife that seemed pretty uncommon to me. At a yard sale, I purchased a Joseph Allen and Sons carving knife and sharpener along with a carving fork (which I beleive does not belong with the original set) for the bank-breaking amount of $1.00 . I have not been able to find anyone in my area (Kingston, NY) who is willing to help me put a value to this set. Is there anyone out there that can help me figure this out? I just recently became curious about those and some of the values of other knives that I have in my set, including an antique pearl handled Boy Scout knife that I've had for about 15 years. If there is ANYONE that might be able to identify my kitchen set, I would be in your debt forever if you could help out! Thanks for reading! And PS - since I cannot post pictures yet, if you feel you can help me, I'll send all the pics I have.

There are many experienced people here at Bladeforums that know amazing things about the history of brands and other assorted specifics of them.

But you can't ask value of any of your knives without making your registered username turn "Gold". Here is the explanation.
