Joseph Rodgers Style Bowie

The customer of this one asked for a competition cutter blade (10" x 2") of Damascus and a hilt like those of Joseph Rodgers & Sons, Sheffield. The blade steel is 336 layers of 1084 & 15N20. The handle scales are from the customer and I believe that the red color of the stabilized burl goes well with the knife. The fixtures are of 416. The guard was forged from 3/4" round. The rest are from flat bar.

That thing is sweet. I just bought one some what similar to that at a gun, knife and military show in Ohio recently.

No where near as nice as this one but still pretty close!

I seem to be getting more & more orders for Bowies that have modern style blades and classic style hilts.
