I am looking for a small, light, fixed blade knife for possible horizontal belt carry. I looked at the mini-pentagon and the cold steel brave heart. In a perfect world it would be double edged(not a requirement) and primarily used as a stabbing insturment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I would suggest a different approach. You need a SD knife? Is it legal to carry a double edge in your area? can you legeally carry concealed? do you know how to use a double edge knife?

Sorry your post just comes off a little mall ninja'ish.

I used the phrase "stabbing insturment" as I hope to keep control of my firearm during my job as an investigator in the inner city working gangs or as a member of a federal agent on the swat team. And yes I do have training through a dog brothers associate and some training in my 30 years in the martial arts. I ask the question as u guys are the experts here and I know when to be a student. Any suggestions on the knife?

That helps, kabar TDI, RAT RC-3, karambit, a lot of it will relate to your training and the type of knives you are use to using. I'm not a fan of CS or SOG because of quality issues but if the knife lends itself well to your needs then it will probably work fine.

Would you consider a folder? waved endura would be a good start.

Thanks, the last post was helpful. I do carry a folder but in a cqb situation its a little to slow to employ and takes some fine motor skills. Plus in a grappling situation I think it will be to difficult to get to in pocket or appendix carry. I will take a look at what u suggested.

A waved folder will be of similar deployment speed to a fixed but i can understand your want for a fixed blade. Also check out our makers section, JK knives has a thread you might want to look at.

I think those KA-BAR TDI knives might work well for you. I don't have a pic handy but just Google it and you'll know if it'll work for you or not.

Just wanted to thank everyone who resonded. Much appreciated and a lot more to research than I originally thought. Thank you.
