Jot Singh Khalsa sticking lock

Just bought a used LNIB Jot Singh sprint in amazing condition except for one thing - a veeeery sticky lock. If I open the knife slowly the lock sticks and opens with a click. If I open quickly or flick the blade it can be almost impossible to open except with great pressure ( and a loud click). Any suggestions on improving the opening?

Here's what I've tried - I've spent a few days opening and closing (several hundred times) but still sticky. I've used graphite, sharpie on the face, and silicone lube and no discernable difference in 'stickiness'.

I am considering disassembling the knife and polishing the lock face(s) with a mild polishing compound.

What do you think?

Try tightening up the frame screws. If the knife is loose in a side to side direction when you push the lock fully to its scale, tighten the pivot. You can always contact spyderco.

Tried the frame screws - they're tight. Any liner lock gurus out there who can offer an opinion - to polish or not to polish the lock face. Thanks a lot!

Before this thread slips into oblivion, anyone else with any words of wisdom regarding improving a sticking liner lock?

Thanks a lot.

Have you tried washing it out with hot soapy water?
