I just found his website, and I'm amazed. I like him so much I made one of his knives my desktop. I'm lucky that he lives in the same state I do, that means I can go to his store and look at some of his stuff in person. I'll never be able to afford anything I've seen on his site though. Does anyone know of any cheap stuff he has avalible? I've found out about the spyderco knife, also some kind of ag russel necklace and a few other necklaces. I want the spyderco knife but it's not very easy to find for sale.

The link doesnt seem to be working...

If you want to try and find a cheap peice of his you could always post an add in the want to buy section of this forum and state the maximum that you are willing to pay and hope you get lucky.

The link isn't working now, but it was just about an hour ago.

Thanks for the help everyone, and anyone who posts after this.

Anything above $100 is pretty much out of my price range, and I don't want to request anything in the wanted forum until I know what I want. I'm not sure if I know everything that's avalible yet.

I don't think that you're going to find something by Jot Khalsa that would meet your definition of cheap. However, inexpensive is a relative term: about five years ago, I was at a knifeshow, looking at the knives on Jot's table and made the comment to him that I really liked his work, but there was no way I could afford any of it. Jot's reply was that the piece I was fondling was only $xxx. Later that morning, my wife snuck back to his table and bought it for me (yes, she is the best).

Go to his store and get a first hand look at his knives. He's a heck of a nice guy and his work is fabulous. Then, start putting $1/day away somewhere. In a couple of years you'll have enough money saved, whereas you won't miss what you might have bought for that dollar on any given day.

If someone can find his web site check out the sword of Khalsa. What a work of art.It was on the cover of blade magazine years ago.

His Sub-hilts are very nice. Got this one from Buddy.

Jot is one of the true gentlemen of the knifemaking world. He was gracious enough to correspond with me when I had questions about a small Kirpan that I picked up second-hand for...$100! Bargains can be found and his fit/finish are excellent. By the way, there is a Spyderco Jot up for bids right now on ebay. I think it's just a hair over $50 right now.

Jot is an articulate courteous gentleman. Jot does some very nice stone work on his designs. He offers an elegant line of blade based jewerly. does some automatics. He lives his beliefs, he is a man of strong character...Take Care...Ed

I have one of the discontinued Spyderco folders he designed and it is a nice EDC. What is also great about it, is how different it looks from the average folder.

Jot will be at the East Coast Custom Knife Show in NYC next weekend so I'll see him there. Jot is always friendly and even though I don't own a piece from him he knows I admire his work.

dsvirsky, had some good advice for you before, put away a little something each day and it will add up, so you can afford anything, as long as you're willing to give up something else to get it.

At my first knife show the only knives I bought were a couple of Spyderco's, but I got to meet a lot of the makers who's work I admired. Over the years many of these makers have become friends. Some I have bought knives from and some know that I may never own a knife of theirs. If you have a chance to meet Jot, make sure that you do. Tell him what you admire about his work and make a friend. You'll be glad you did.

He does some small pieces that aren't as expensive, but still well into three figures.
