Nothing to wild, just thought some of you might be interested, and may want to share your tale....

Started looking for a reasonably priced, all purpose survival knife. Initially settled on the Becker BK-2. Started price comparisons, watching YouTube clips, and got interested in the BK-9. Noticed that the Ka-bar Kukri was performing well, but the reviews kept noting that Himalayan Imports made best in class...

Not long after, stumbled across the HI homepage/his forum, and I was hooked. Would love to scoop up a CAK, or maybe a GRS - want a really capable chopper. Fighting the urge to settle on a lesser brand, and was crushed to miss the CAK blem pre-christmas!

(/hint) Hoping to see another in the next couple days before my birthday (/end hint).
 
Welcome! And good luck on your search. AK & GRS would both be great choices. I prefer the regular AK over the CAK, personally.
 
great to have you around mc , if you browse the forums around the hours of 11 am and 3 pm you might be able to catch a DOTD, HI is a superior knife company, and their products are second to none, huzzah.
 
Welcome mcatalfano, these are very capable blades with a ton of history. This forum is filled with great folks also. I feel your pain on missing a one of these beauties. I completely lucked out and snagged that pre-Christmas CAK blem. (not an easy feat for me as I have a 10min break to check while working around a guy hell bent on firing employees). I was also lucky enough to end up with one of the KLVUK blades a little earlier. If you have interest, I will offer you the KLVUK. Let me know what you think.

Mcat! Welcome to the community! All I can say is your on the right track for choppers! You might add Bonecutter to your short list. Those were the three choppers on my list but I recently bought me a monster chopper 20" AK. I already have a 15"AK and it is a very cool knife and beast for its size. I would love to get a mid-sized chopper now in case I ever need to pack one far from home. CAK's have been quite frequent lately so stay tuned and you will get one. My friend just got a Becker BK-2 and loves it. He sent me the utube links as well. I replied to him with a few pics of my AK Bowie and I havent heard a peep out of him since:eek: Ive been dangling Khukuri meat in his face but he hasnt gotten close enough to smell it...Yet.

Also ASTK and M43 may be of interest?

Opposite of mcat is ndog:D
