here is a stand alone shot of the southwest bowie i submitted for the journeyman rating at Atlanta
why did it take so long you ask?

well it was sitting on a sheath makers bench since June .. i hate leather. i hate leather so bad i hate cows too

Coop did a fantastic job

Oh yes...a beautiful bowie! Very nice graceful lines, elegant and a pleasure to hold I'm sure!! Congrats!!!

Beautiful flow to the entire knife Mr. Humphrey. I hate cows but love a good porterhouse. :)

There's hidden treasure in this blade. Hold it in the correct lighting and there is a great 'zipper' pattern hamon. I could NOT get it to show under my tent, so that's for the new owner to admire on his own.

If you like a large belly on your knife, this one delivers. Very fine finish. The Judges thought so, too. ;)

Thanks, Lon!

Coop

Lon that's a great looking knife!

Well, I guess you know we need to see that sheath.

I have a SW bowie on the bench, I'm deciding which style guard to use. Your piece firmed it up for me!

You hate cows? Have you ever had a good steak? A blue cheese burger? Osso Bucco? (Sp)

Very good looking knife.

Well, Coop what you did get to show was the used of the background and how the lines in the handle flow with the lines of the background. Very kewl. Kind of like when the makers do something similar with stag and guards or butts. Very nice looking knife too.

What I like to see in a bowie - plenty of belly and a bad ass clip. You got it in spades. Nice work Lon. Learn to make the sheaths yourself, problem solved. ;)

Fantastic work, Lon. Love the curves!

If looking really close I can just see it in the middle of the blade, Coop. I didn't notice it until I read your post, though. Your photos always impress!
