Hello All

As many of you know, the ABS auctions several knives at the Blade show. One of these knives is billed the Journeyman Knife of the Year. I am the maker of the 2010 Journeyman knife that will be auctioned at Blade Show and wanted to share it with you.

The blade is ~12 1/4" long, forged from 5160 steel, flat ground with a distal taper. The guard and butt are twist Damascus. The spacer is of a ferule type in which a spacer if fasioned from micarta and a sterling silver ferrule is wrapped around it. The handle is desert ironwood. The sheath is 2 piece with an inlay/overlay. I am sole author of this piece including engraving and leather work.

Wow that's a fine looking piece! Congratulations on Journeyman Knife of the Year!

Brian, that is a credit to your talent both as a bladesmith and a sheath maker. Oh! I almost forgot an engraver too.

You did a fantastic job on that piece Brian. I knew you were a talented knifemaker, but I had no idea you were so accomplished with leather as well. And the enrgaved ferrule really sets this one off nicely. Great job.

I have been admiring this piece on Chuck Ward's photosite for several days now.
Very nice fighter and sheath Brian. Love that style dual carry sheath.

Very good material selection, features and execution contributing to an elevated overall.

This should do well at the auction.

Wow, Brian. Nice, buddy.
The whole package is just extraordinary.
(You're gonna get a lot of compliments on that sheath!!)

Brian,

I saw this one on Chuck's flickr site and almost emailed you at the time because I was so impressed. Just beautiful, knife & sheath
