Well that is a nice looking blade and I hope it works out during your test. If the smile and confidence of your precious daughter is any indication....... you will be shoe-in. Good luck and best wishes heading your direction.

There's a test knife with some style, and a lovely daughter to help you.

You'll do fine, I'm sure.

John

Looks like a great cutter Lon. What type of steel and heat treatment did you use, if you don't mind my asking?

Lon
from what i've seen of your work over the last year you will have no problem passing the performance part or the five knives you'll do great

its 5160 with a edge quench so the spine air hardened just a bit

thanks for the votes of confidence

You wont have a problem at all with 5160 passing. Congrats in advance. I have a couple helpers like that, all they want to do is eat ice cream, howd you get her to chop wood?

Great lookin knife Lon. Your helper dosn't relay any of your stress and sweat, maybe she shoiuld be doing that rope cut for you. I'll be at the Ohio hammerin so I look forward to meeting you. I just went through this process so if you want any pointers or "good luck slap on the backs" please feel free to call or email. By the way the blade looks great. Paul
