Journeyman to MS - how long does it take?

I sometimes read that a knifemaker has just got his Journeyman certification. And later he becomes a Master Bladesmith.

How long does that usually take? Is there a time limit for the journeyman to make it to Master Bladesmith?

From the ABS website,

"Before standing for the performance portion of the test for Master Smith, the applicant must have been a Journeyman Smith for one (1) full year. The Master Smith applicant must have held the rank of Journeyman Smith for two (2) full years, before presenting his work for evaluation at the Annual Show and Meeting."
