I had the fortune of winning a prize in a give away put on by Duncan (Campbellclanman) and Paul (pmew) recently, and its time to pay it forward. Many of you might have seen some of my customized old slipjoints on the forums, and at this point I have sold a handful of them. Well, its been a few weeks since my last project and its time to start a new one. This time however, I need your help!

P.S. - If you have NOT seen any of them, here is the last one I completed - An Imperial sheepsfoot barlow in ivory paper micarta

In this give away, your entry is what you would have me build for you out of the components below. On March 30, I will indicate that the entries are done, and I will select a random post number generated by www.random.org. If I land on a number that does not seem to be an entry, I will run it again. Whoever I land on will get a final confirmation on the proposed build, and then I will finish the knife and send it your way. You must be a regular contributor to traditionals - at least 50 posts please, as of today! Since this is not a retail product, dealers, other makers, or even admins are welcome to enter too.

So how does it work?

#1 - Pick your platform!
I have 3 Imperial carbon bladed knives here, or at least I am pretty sure they are carbon. You can choose from The Barlow, The Dog Leg, or The Camp Knife. You can pick single blade, or multi blade. You can pick polished blades, or satin blades.

#2 - Pick your covers!
Woods - Zebrawood, Jatoba, Ipe, Indian Rosewood, Bulbinga, Old Ax hickory (not shown), Ebony, or the light unknown burl
Micarta - Olive Drab linen, Ivory Paper
Bone - Natural cow bone (dyed or not, jigged or smooth), or Mammoth Ivory bark
Other - I am willing to discuss working with any other handle cover materials that you are prepared to provide (stag, elk, exotic micartas, etc)

#3 - Pick your bolsters!
Nickel silver or carbon steel? Polished or satin? Lined? Fluted? Pinched? Bolster size?

I may or may not be able to accomodate other requests outside of the options listed above, but nothing guaranteed. Make your choices, and GOOD LUCK!

Super cool give away.. sadly I never win lol, but I will have fun playing along...

#1. Dogleg

#2. Mammoth Ivory

#3. polished nickel silver, pinched and lined

Thank you Jeff!

Agree ^ . Sadly I haven't been on here long enough, but good luck and I love this place so far.

Camp knife.

Satin blades.

Carbon steel bolsters. Lined. Satin.

Ebony scales 1st Choice. Ivory paper micarta would be a 2nd, or possibly a tie!

Awesome giveaway Jeff!!!

I'd go for the little dogleg, standard length bolsters with a rat tail, bare end, red jigged bone, and everything polished up real nice and purdy-like! :D

Thanks for the chance!

What a great idea! And incredibly generous of you!

As I have yet to find the right Barlow for me, I think that Barlow with a large satin, nickel silver bolster, jatoba covers, satin blades, and brass Iiners would make one gorgeous knife! Thanks for the opportunity, and thank you for Ietting me dream up such a beautiful knife!

I'm not eligible yet, and wouldn't post at all, but this is awesome. Letting someone design a knife that you will build and GIVE to them, very cool.

I would have to go with a 2 blade, single spring camp knife. Primary spear, secondary can opener/screw driver. Jigger cow bone.

Again, I'm not eligible, but this was too cool not to throw in my .02

Very Nice of you to pay it forward.

I would pick the Barlow, with mammoth and nickel bolster.

Thanks

This is a cool GAW
Scout pattern
Bark Ivory
Nickel bolsters lined and polished.
Bail if possible?
Thank you

Jeff very generous of you. My list
1. Two blade barlow satin finish
2. Zebrawood
3.nicklesilver fluted long bolster

Very very generous Jeff! Thank you for this opportunity. My would would consist of

Camp Knife
Polished Blades
Jigged Bone in Dark Chestnut
Polished Nickel Silver Bolsters, Lined
A Bail if you're so inclined

The perfect Camp Knife for me lol.

Great idea for a GAW!
Since so many people get knives passed down from their grandfather, I would like to have one made For mine. He carries a peanut daily, so here is His build.

Dogleg
Satin blade (Single)
Mammoth bark
Supplied Bronze for satin and pinched bolsters, if your ok with it!
-possible easy open notch

Thanks a Ton!

What a fantastic, generous GAW, Jeff!!:thumbup: I can't pass this up, since the only knives I knew when I was a kid were Imperials and Colonials, so those brands really get me. ;)
If I'm fortunate enough to win, I'd go with:
1. 2 satin blades, Barlow (I'm always a multi-blade guy if given a choice)
2. Old Ax Hickory covers (haven't you done one that way, cut "on the bias" from a grandfather-in-law's ax handle? That was outstanding!)
3. Single carbon steel bolster (never had that before), satin finish; standard Barlow size; single "thread" line near bottom of bolster.

(or I could provide a clip/pen Imperial toothpick as the "foundation", if you'd rather do that ;))

Good luck, everyone! :D I'll enjoy seeing what everyone is dreaming of!

Very cool GAW. I've been wanting to get something to you for a while now but the budget hasn't allowed it just yet.

I'd go with the dogleg, bare headed in oiled smooth bone with lined steel Bolsters with everything polished to a high shine! That ivory paper micarta is a close second choice though. That last barlow you did was super slick looking with it.

Edit... I don't know how I missed the mammoth ivory for materials! I'd definitely go with that. I don't have an ivory knife and have been itching for one. Smooth mammoth scales would be superb!

I'll play.

Barlow (two satin blades) with Ipe wood and satin nickel silver, long bolsters.

Your willingness to give your time and expertise in this manner is truly a rare gift. Thank You, for all of us!:thumbup:

I'm unworthy, but I'd go camp knife, satin blades, satin carbon steel bolsters, of standard size, your choice of wood for the covers, and if possible, a bail.
A very generous GAW, good luck to all, and congrats to the winner, whoever he or she may be.

Dude, this is an awesome giveaway!

I'd pick the barlow with both blades (you sure theres not a sheep's foot? ;))
Cow bone dyed orange or zebrawood
Satin steel lined large bolsters

Thanks again, this is really cool.

The Barlow silver bwith green micarta nickel silver bolsters and a satin finish on everything.
