This is JR Cook's CKCA Mini Show knife and it's a beauty! The Custom Knife Collectors Association Mini Knife Show is held each year on Thursday evening before the BLADE SHOW in Atlanta. Members get a chance at knives by 5-7 top makers made just for the show and specially priced - one of several notable member benefits.

The blade is 1084 & 15N20 feather pattern Damascus. The fittings are 416 stainless and the handle is ancient Walrus. It features JR's second generation spindle guard. OAL is 13 1/2 in. Blade is 8 1/2 in. and handle is 5 in. It's marked ALT (Arkansas Living Treasure). Engraving also by JR.

This knife is amazing! Stunning damascus, cool black Ivory, unique fittings, beautiful but subtle engraving, and just the size Bowie I like.
Can't wait to see it. Another great reason to join CKCA!

What amazing steel. It's not only a feather pattern, but it morphs into licking flames. This one made me stop and study for a while.

Nice stuff, JR!

Crystal clear photography with an appropriate theme, and a nicely antique look to it. An enviable image!

A good thread. We appreciate it, Buddy!

Fantastic bowie and a great pic. This has already been a great year for bowies, and it's only April.

That's a heck of a Bowie Knife. I like it a lot. I'm sure JR's CKCA Mini-Show draw box will be stuffed for this one.
Very nice Damascus, outstanding Walrus Ivory. I'm curious as to what that ivory looked like in it's semi-rough state.
I like the engraving and feel it really adds appeal to this fine Bowie. Bringing the engraving out on the lower guard was a nice touch IMO.
JR's really coming along on his engraving.
This is probably my second favorite of all Cook knives to date, the first being his CKCA-Jerry Fisk Cutlery Challenge Knife of a couple years ago.

Nice photo Buddy!

Don, didn't you make a Bowie for the Guild Show in Orlando (I think the last one in Orlando) that had very similar black-white Walrus?

JR's stuff is unusually photogenic and makes great images. So I think it's the S guard. JR said it was his 'second generation spindle guard.' It is indeed fine.

Absolutely cracking, and Coop is right about the feathers morphing into flames, just awesome. I love the spindle guard, although I bet this MS could make a D-guard work beautifully on this one as well.

Outstanding piece! The bucket should be full of names for this one. Great looking bowie, excellent image.
