This Mammoth Damascus knife by JR Cook just arrived in my mail today. I took a couple quick pics to tell the story of how I came to own it. I first saw this knife at a gun show in Tulsa, OK a couple months ago. The guy selling it was selling african "art" and jewelry. He didn't know much about the knife and I had some concerns about whether it was a real Cook knife. First of all the price was wrong (too cheap). The sheath he had with it was not made by Cook. He said his wife made it. I passed at that time.

Then I saw the guy at another gun show and he still had the knife. I decided to contact JR and send him pictures. JR called me immediately, confirmed that it was made by him, gave me the timeframe and the details about the knife and original sheath, which had carved oak leaves in the leather. I told him the price and he said "BUY IT" that is a steal for that knife. I contacted the seller and turns out he found the original sheath and sent me photos.

I bought it and kind of feel like I rescued this knife from a life of gun shows, where most poeple would never appreciate it.
