Buy the way when are we gonna see those Mini mucks?????

I've been impressed by JRE. I'd like to get something from them, but I HATE sending my knife away, and they don't seem to have any Busse's in stock. Did you hafta send yours in Hollow?

Really nice, practical sheath! Don't carry a hatchet myself, but I like the rig for yours! :)

JRE - Are they the folks who do the Bark River stuff? It looks pretty familiar from some Barkies I've owned.

I don't normally either but the mini is like 10" long and 12 oz so I take it backpacking sometimes. Also since it's so small you can sort of use it like a knife too

I like the sheaths for the Gransfors. The Gransfor Mini is a favorite of mine. It is compact and lightweight yet packs a decent whallop for such a tiny hatchet.

How good is the firesteel retention on each sheath? I always feel like it would be loose enough to fall out at a bad time, and some sort of retention cord might be useful.

It's ok on the hatchet sheath although I would have put it on the side.

On the GW sheath it's super tight. You have to put something in the hole of the firesteel and pull it out.

To be honest though normally when I'm backpacking or something I hardly ever use the firesteel on the sheath. I have a small scout one I keep in my pack that I mostly use:o:foot:;)
