JRE sheaths....Outstanding

that's a great looking sheath Scott... Dan and Spen do some top notch work...

ONe of the best bangs for the buck in sheaths..plus the warranty is pretty great to...you dont see that in leather ever. I just got a "cricket" sheath for my Aurora..its awesome..they designed it for the F1 I think...I saw it on thier website and emailed about getting one for the Aurora..they said no problemo..a few weeks later. There it was, perfect fit. I really like having a crossdraw or scout sheath for a smaller knife..works great, and you can conceal it while hiking with just a long shirt. Gene

YUP..I did:D I bet they could make any sheath your little heart desires..they are so easy to deal with, and thier prices are friggin awesome. I love the work they do..I try to fit just about all my blades with a JRE..its my goto leather.

JRE has made several sheaths for me, and they've always been top-notch. They are good folks to deal with.

..how do these horizontal sheaths carry? it seems like they'd be sticking out and getting caught on stuff all the time.. ..or maybe its just because I'm too skinny? :D I just tried holding my JRE sheathed Koster Bushcraft against the small of my back and I suppose it would ride ok there, but it still seems like it would still catch on things moving thru undergrowth.. ::shrug::

..it still looks cool tho. ..perhaps for a smaller knife for my preferences tho. To each their own.

I was going to say, I used to carry my nimravus like this and I loved it, it did snag once in a while, but if your woods loafing, It was fine. Only around the house I found it to catch.

Actually..thats why I wear it..because it snags on every twig within arms reach..It forces me to appretiate the little things in life that live on twigs!:D
Seriously., I dont get this train of thought...how can a sheath thats behind you get snagged any more than a sheath thats on your side...I like to walk forward when hiking. Every scout style sheath discussion always has a percentage of the posters comment that they thought that this style looks like a sheath that will snag?? :confused:Its interesting to me...anyway..all kidding aside, I dont have a problem with it, it doesnt snag on anything. I dont know if its how I travel through the woods or what...but if you are walking through really thick underbrush and thick overhanging branches alot..your sheath is not the only thing that is gonna snag..your clothing, hair, shoelaces...these all get snagged as well. I have had side hanging sheaths get snagged more times than I care to remember when I was younger and walked "through" the woods..now I walk "in" the woods, and things have stopped grabbing me so much.;)
