Hi everyone!

I finally finished the D-guard Bowie.

It has a 12" 5160 blade, German Silver fittings, African Blackwood handle and an overall length of 16 3/4" long. This is the second D-guard Bowie I've made. I will be using it for one of my JS Test knives at the Blade Show coming up.

The next one will be a W-2 Clay hardened re-curve; with a 10" blade and a handle of Missouri, Black Walnut. (Stainless Steel fittings)

Thanks for looking!

Tell me what you think.

I've been waiting with anticipation for this one and you didn't disappoint. That is one great looking D-guard bowie.

what a great looking knife.
I really like the way that you are presenting your knives for our via pleasure via two different sized photos. Smart:)

Another where the fit/finish/execution looks absolutely flawless.
Can't wait to see these knives at BLADE.

I'm not too fond of the raised clip.
Looks a little out of place to me on this classic design.

Good work! Not really a D guard person, however, amazing looking craftsmanship. I do like the raised clip on here. I'll be at Blade and would love to meet you and see your stuff!

Clean, simple,(not something usually associated with a "D"guard), elegant.
This really shows off your ability and precision, and is a personal favorite of the knives you've shown.

Clean and beautifully done! I like the raised clip a lot. The extra metal that makes up the raised clip compliments the visual weight of the guard. A neat modern look to a classic design.

Would love to handle it to see how it balances in the hand. See ya at Blade, Kyle!

A little bit of a different blade shape than expected on a D-guard, but I do like the overall look. Almost more of a contemporary D-guaurd fighter than a classis D-guard bowie. But the execution looks to be first rate, which matters much more than the label.

Kyle this has to be one of my favorite's from you for sure ... Love that long clip

Kyle that one is the best yet in my view, classic, slick, modern all at the same time. Give us a close up of the handle if you can.

Beautiful piece Kyle, I like a good D guard and this one looks top notch. ;)
Only 2 to go.

I'll post a close up of the handle tonight.

Thanks for all the complements everyone!

Great lookin knife, Kyle!

Shape of the D-guard is tough to pull off, but you did it.

My only concern is a 4.75" handle on such a large blade. Looks fine in the pics though.

Another great looking knife. I think the raised clip gives it a nice look and it has a VERY clean look overall.

Oh man, that is a beautiful combination of blended classic and modern style --- I love it.
