Hi everyone!

I finally finished my fifth JS Test Knife about a week ago!

This is the first Spear Point blade I've made. The 9" blade is forged from 5160. The handle is of Amber dyed Sambar Stag. (this was also the first time I've used stag on a Bowie handle) The fittings are German Silver with Rope Pattern File work. The blade has a 1500 grit finish on it. This was the first time I've done a finish like this on a blade and I like it so much that I think I'll have to do it like this alot more.

I would like to thank my brother Caleb for the great picture!

Tell me what you think.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

I agree! The nice crisp details, and the materials you chose are great, and that finish looks awesome! Very Nice! :)

You did a fantastic job on this knife. The blade looks great and I think the fittings are outstanding.

Just for your information, it's sambar.

Extremely nice Kyle. I like the filework you did on the ferrule and guard a lot and that finish does look good.

I think they should give you a MS stamp instead. Just show up with a dagger and see what happens. :)

That's maybe just a bit too ambitious for now, but Kyle you made 5 excellent knives as far as I can tell from the pictures. So IMO a JS stamp is in the cards and maybe the Peck Award???

Anyway have a blast in Atlanta.

Very nice, Kyle. So.....are you going to take on Mr. White for the Moran award with that one?:D

Oops my bad. Thanks for letting me know that I got that wrong.

Hi Joe,

I made this knife a Spear Point Bowie so I could enter it in the Moran award category.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone!

See you at BLADE!

Done with weeks to spare. Nice job.

Another beautiful knife. I like spearpoint blades for the
additional strength they add to the tip area.
Like the stag, guard/ferrule and overall execution.

Looking forward to finally meeting you and seeing all five pieces at Blade. :)

Kyle not a big spearpoint fan but that is as well done and elegant as I have seen.

Kyle is doing this great fit and finish work, and now he is finishing them down to 1,500 grit! Great stuff! Really like this one, Kyle. Five super test knives with lots of variety. Now, you have to wait. But, it has to be a great feeling having those JS test knives completed. It will be like counting down the last days of school! ;)
