Heres a neat little stocking-stuffer that Santa (me) provided this Christmas.
Its a new model from JSP Custom Division named the Poctan, with black bubble abstract Rigger Coat. Its a carbon steel, the type escapes me at the moment, all of 5 1/4 OAL with a 2 3/8 blade length.
This is a highly-detailed grind for such a small pocketable blade. I struggled to do this knife justice with the pictures to convey the details. The user-interface end of the knife is all rounded and friendly. The finger cut is rounded and polished; the spine of the blade has a roundedness at the top of its bevel that winds up into the reinforced tip. The double flat ground blade edge is all business.
I love custom folders for defensive carry, but this knife, for me, is whole nuther level of fast deployment from a pocket, static cord and all. This looks to be one ferocious partner for close quarters, whether that subject be a BG or a cardboard box!
I have never bought a knife sight-unseen. Mr. Piorek, in his inimitable easy descriptive style, painted a visual image that made me remove my wallet on the spot. The actual knife corresponded with that image. Good salesman, that Mr. Piorek! And an exceptional talent in the knife-making realm.
