JSP Shoulder harness - how do it work?

These JSP carry systems, and the shoulder harness and the inverted back carry in particular, look like the most efficient and well thought out carry systems I've seen. I've read the posts about carrying big knives with the shoulder harness and the suggestions to use the back carry instead. But I still need the shoulder harness for at least some 7" and smaller knives because I'll be sitting or carrying a pack. Here's my question:
I know I should have James make a sheath but I hate to ship my knives. I already "lost" two Busses in the mail. (Either someone is opening the mail now with a BattleMistress or those dogs chasing the postman are in for a nasty surprise!) So I'd like to attach the rigs to my existing sheath/s. Is that possible? Do I have to order the rivets too? Does JP offer them and are there different kinds? Is there an instruction manual for these rigs, or is there a course being offered at a University on this?

HJK,

Basically what I would do is insure them for more than they are worth, because retro-fitting a sheath may or may not work. It would involve drilling two holes for the Chicago (2-piece screws) Screws, and there may or may not be room on your sheath to do this.

Whatever you decide to do, we can walk you through it too.

P.S. About insuring for more than cost, makes perfect sense and I tried it. Result? Canada Customs charged me taxes based on the insured value even though there was no "sale". It took months to get my money back, and they tried to charge me $5.00 for the privilege. We need a good man [or woman] up here to help us poor Canucks run the gauntlet of our Kafkaesque import problems. I wish Murray Haday carried JSP.
I think I'll risk the drilling and telephone JP. The email doesn't seem to do the trick.
