I recently found out that I'd won the Grand door-prize at a knife show I attended last fall. It's a single edge dagger w/ false edge made by Judson Brennan of Delta Junction, Alaska. The blade is flat-ground out of (apparently) high-carbon steel, w/ ebony (?) handle, engraved steel pommel and guard. I've sent thank-yous to the show organizer and Mr. Brennan, and was wondering if anyone had further info on the maker. I

I looked him up in the new Knives '99 annual. He does sheath knives, many of period designs and in damascus. They also noted that he is a gunsmith that specializes in working on muzzleloaders, and has been making knives since 1978.

Thanks, madpoet. Incidentally, a co-worker of mine recently moved here from Fairbanks, about a 100 miles NW of Delta Junction. He says that DJ is basically a wide spot in the road, population about 200 if you count the dogs, too. Knife-making sounds like a good business to be in, in that part of world, especially this time of year.
