It's been a while since I've posted in general but I just had to share this one with you guys. I recently acquired this very wicked knife from Tomb_lin (thanks again!)- It is the "Killer Banana" by Juergen Schanz. This was a folder he made back in 2005 and was a collaborative design between himself and Jorg Schneider. Only 12 were produced, each different than the rest. As soon as I saw this blade, it had me intrigued but after having it in hand, it really is an amazing piece of work! The grinds are some of the best I have seen and the Vinland damascus (Damasteel) compliments them beautifully. The handle is full titanium including the clip and has a nice, smooth micarta slab on the presentation side. It's just one of those knives where you pick it up and say "WOW!" It looks pretty overwhelming and somewhat strange for sure but it just melts in your hand and is surprisingly well balanced. For a knife with a 5" blade, it's very easy to manipulate. Part of me wishes it was a bit shorter so I could legally carry it but on the other hand, it adds a nice bit of variety to my collection. Anyway, I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking...

That's pretty wicked. We haven't seen much from Schanz in a while. He used to post some pretty wild stuff back in the day.

LOL! I was intrigued since it was from Herr Schanz but it is bit funky-shaped for me.

To each his own (happiness) though!

Haha, I must agree that it is a bit ugly for sure...Definitely a departure from what Juergen makes now.
