Hello everyone, i m looking forward to buying a multi tool knife. My choice is narrowed down to 2 leathermans the charge tti and the juice cs4.
To me the CS4 has 2 advantages over the tti : it is "light" (can fit in my pocket if i really need to) and has a corkscrew (well i m french ...) BUT it may have a drawback i can't make do with: the blade are said everywhere to be "not lockable".

So here is my question to you cs4 owners : Is it not lockable like a standard knife (SAK for example) in comparison to the advanced locks on the charge series or is the blade (or tools ) free to move without "any restraint" at all?

Although the CS4 blades don't lock, I don't find that a drawback for a tool of its size and capability. The Juice is a traditional slipjoint, useable for many purposes but not a heavy duty performer like the TTi. They are different classes of multitools, not directly comparable. I have a CS4 and like it very much, but also a larger Leatherman with locking tools when I expect to do "serious" work.

BTW, in re the corkscrew: it works, but not so well with the assist, which is precarious, at best. I prefer to turn the screw almost all the way down, then lever against the bottle to break the cork adhesion before drawing it out.

Vive la France! :D

I have the Juice S2 for my EDC. It is great for a smaller sized tool. I have never had a problem with the non-locking blade.

I think I need a Juice myself. Beleive or not, Russians like vine too )))
In the meantime I scored GAK, also with corcscrew.

thanks for the feedback guys, i settled for a CS4 ;) It is currently on the way to my home. I think i ll get a bigger one (swisstool or TTI) if i really need to do big stuff but for now the cs4 will be exactly what i need

Good choice. I believe this tool is unique in its size category. No other has pliers as large. It is great for lighter duty, which is usually all I need from a pocketable multi-tool, and more versatile than many. Unlke the Core, however, it is not gorilla proof, so don't get too enthusiastic about cranking down on something.

After using it for a while, please let us know what you think.

My Juice S2 is a great little tool for quick jobs and light duty. When I need a tool for the big stuff I head to the tool box.

One of the things that makes it so handy is that it is unobtrusive and therefore always in my pocket ready to go. It is smooth and doesn't snag or cause wear on the pockets.

I might need to look into upgrading to the CS4 from the S2. How thick is the S2 compared to the CS4?
