July 1st. 2014 OPINEL No. 8 BITTEN!

Hi all,

It has to happen sooner or later. I got careless/distracted with my new Opinel No. 8 (Olivewood/Stainless). I was not paying close enough attention while wiping the blade and drew it across the underneath pad of my left Thumb. Damn, that Opinel is SHARP! Truthfully, the No. 8 was so sharp, it didn't really hurt but.....I had a pretty damn good slice/cut in the Thumb so I had one of my co-workers wrap a big fat Band-Aid on the Thumb where it has remained since this morning. Anyone else cut themselves today ?

I was careless while closing my Spyderco Tenacious without looking and nicked the side of my right thumb. Not too bad of a cut, though

LOL.....ya gotta love Python! Oooh btw, nice Seal Point! I miss my Seal Point something awful.

I did the same darn thing after cutting an onion (a 12, I think) and also ruined an expensive T-shirt that I was using to wipe it. Insult to injury.

Arrrrr! Que.....I did the same damn thing! That is to say.....using my shirt to wipe the blade. Sorry to hear you ruined a nice T-Shirt.....hey wait.....why were you using a nice/expensive T-Shirt to wipe your blade ? I was using an old (HI type shirt) that I was wearing at the time. Another thing I've noticed.....I've been using a CHEAP pair of Foster Grant "reader" Eye glasses of late and....I really think it's screwed up my depth perception when I use them for anything other than reading (quick reading....labels etc.) I've been dropping, bumping, banging things since wearing these stupid glasses and now I can add cutting myself to the list.

Yep, they're fantastic cats, for sure. I had a blue point who passed at 9 years old. I'm hoping this guy will go much longer. He's nearly 10 now. :thumbup:
